THE CHALLENGE

82717 Life Magazine was working on the 2019 food issue when we wandered into Dickie’s BBQ Pit for a shoot in which they were hoping to highlight a few of their best and brightest. The comfort food epicenter allows you to have Texas-style BBQ wherever they pop up a location. Our challenge was to capture both comfort and delicious eats for their featured piece in the local magazine and to brand them as the place to go for some amazing grub.

THE APPROACH

In order to capture the best Dickie’s BBQ Pit has to offer, I asked them to whip up their messiest burgers and allow me to put them in the spotlight. I used the already established chalkboard backdrop in the establishment and used a table as the forground to create some glossy contrast. I wanted to convey the atmosphere that comes along when you stop by to enjoy some home cooked cuisine.
